In fear is an experimental video that explores the connection between historical events and contemporary experience. Film clips from documentary films produced by government and educational agencies from the 1930s through 1950s are juxtaposed with original footage to confront individual fears and challenge our current political landscape.

The subject matter draws from personal experience as I examine family relationships, identity, and the effect that fear, both manufactured and real, has on our personal lives. Specifically, I look at our children’s lives, particularly the upbringing of boys, as they get managed into masculinity and ultimately prepared for war.
